AmeriCorps Service Opportunities
100 Fold partners with AmeriCorps to provide internship opportunities with a focus on environmentally-responsible architecture. AmeriCorps is a service organization supported by the U.S. federal government that mobilizes members to meet critical community needs.
Our program focuses on training young architects to provide access to affordable and environmentally-responsible architectural services to help Montana nonprofits, faith-based organizations and Native American communities in Flathead and Lake Counties increase their capacity to serve their communities while decreasing the energy costs of their buildings and better protecting the environment.
Under the guidance of licensed architects, AmeriCorps members will study various environmentally-responsible design strategies through courses accredited by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the U.S. Green Building Council. The knowledge is then applied by the members in various service-learning architectural projects. AmeriCorps members will provide design services that include feasibility studies, conceptual designs, drawings, and images for facilities improvements, fundraising, construction documents, and assist with construction administration services.
At the end of the service term, AmeriCorps members will be responsible for demonstrating a change in behavior or intention to change behavior to reduce energy consumption and/or better steward the environment by promoting environmentally-responsible design strategies. The overarching goal of the 100 Fold Studio | AmeriCorps partnership is to provide a positive service experience that leads to a career in service to others.
Service experience with 100 Fold Studio | AmeriCorps may be counted towards the National Council of Architectural Registration Board’s (NCARB) Architectural Experience Program (AXP) and may be eligible for academic credit.
